Kerätään yhdessä 20 000 € nuorten mielenterveystyöhön

Let's raise €20,000 together for youth mental health work

The need for support for children and young people has increased even more since the coronavirus. This is evident, for example, in the school health survey, where young people's experience of loneliness and anxiety has clearly increased. The burden on adults close to children and young people has also increased, which is reflected in the increase in the number of contacts made to the Crisis Hotline. MIELI ry works to ensure that every child and young person has mental health skills that protect them throughout life and help them face crises. At Kouvola Liquorice, we want to do our part to help young people so that they have the ability to trust in a better tomorrow.

That's why we're donating 100% of the proceeds from MIELI boxes to preventive mental health work for children and young people. Our goal is to raise a total of 20,000 euros for MIELI ry – and we need your help to do this.

- For us at Kouvola Lakritsi, taking on social responsibility is an important value. The corona years have been tough for everyone, but especially for young people. If we can somehow help them, we want to do it, says Kouvola Lakritsi's Happiness Chief Officer Jari Hautala .

The funds will be raised using MIELI boxes containing 500 grams of liquorice. There are four different MIELI boxes available and they will be sold every two weeks at the Kouvola Lakritsi factory store and online store . Each box is available in a limited edition. The price of each box is 10 euros and all proceeds will be directed to MIELI ry's preventive mental health work for children and young people. The sales target is a total of 2,000 licorice boxes.

- We have designed the MIELI boxes so that they contain messages that are different in their level of boldness, engaging and sometimes humorous. We want to be on the side of young people and support them, not to rant or moralize, says Timo Nisula, CEO of Kouvola Lakritsi.

During the campaign, Kouvola Licorice's social media channels will also be used to talk about young people's mental health and raise awareness. There will be various tips on how to listen to and meet young people, among other things.

- The coronavirus pandemic has particularly burdened young people. The war and the environmental crisis are also testing their resilience and faith in the future. Supporting the well-being and mental health of young people is now a common concern for all of us. It is really great that Kouvola's Lakritsi is in its own way involved in supporting and strengthening the mental health of young people, thanks Liisa Partio , Communications Director of MIELI ry.
