Kouvola Licorice Licorice pieces
Guide
Put the cream in a saucepan and add the licorice sauce.
Heat to boiling point.
Separate the yolks and whites from the eggs.
Place the yolks in a bowl, measure out the sugar and whisk. (Use the whites for something else, like meringues.)
Pour the cream and liquorice mixture into the foam and mix with a hand whisk or whisk.
Place small ovenproof serving bowls in a rimmed baking dish and pour the mixture through a sieve into the bowls.
Carefully pour boiling water into the pan so that the edges of the pan are covered with boiling water.
Place the pan in a 150 degree oven on the middle rack and cook in a water bath for 30-45 minutes. Cool and refrigerate for two hours.
Sprinkle sugar on top and toast until crispy over a gas burner.
You can sprinkle licorice powder on top of the servings and decorate with licorice pieces.
Serve cold.
