Ingredients (8 servings)
Bun dough:
2 ½ dl milk
25 g fresh yeast
1 dl sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon cardamom
½ teaspoon salt
7-8 dl wheat flour
100 g butter or margarine
In addition:

- Prepare the bun dough.
- Warm the milk to room temperature and dissolve the yeast in it.

Add sugar, egg, cardamom, salt and wheat flour.
- Finally, knead in the melted butter or margarine and chopped licorice pieces.
- Let the dough rise under a cloth for about half an hour.
- Knead the dough using wheat flour and divide into equal-sized pieces.
- Roll into small balls and let rise under a cloth for about 15 minutes.
- Roll the buns out thinly and fry in a hot waffle iron.
- Serve with Kouvola Licorice sauce or licorice-crisp sauce and licorice pieces .
